Getting your music on the radio is a great way to get exposure. If you do not have the resources to pay for a radio promotion service, it is likely that you will be reaching out to radio stations yourself. This will limit you to college and internet radio. The good news is that I have provided an email template for radio that can help you start a conversation with the station that you plan on reaching out to.

Get Your Music Out There
You want to make sure that you include your Twitter handle when sending your music to internet radio. Some stations will tweet when they are playing your music. Furthermore, a good strategy would be to retweet and thank the radio station for playing your music.
Stations that agree to play your music will require an MP3 file. Be sure your music includes all of the correct metadata.
