The rhythm of the track creates a contagious vibe just in time for summer. ‘One Way’ gives listeners a fresh way to worship with a sound that brings new flavor to gospel.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland LIVE was influenced by the pleasures of the street but refocused his life on the promises of God. While he may be considered an emerging artist, his energy and passion rival veterans of the industry.
Music lovers have given “One Way” a very warm welcome as people all across the globe have embraced the One Way dance challenge.
Early Life
LIVE was born and raised in Baltimore City by his mother—a single, young black woman who raised two kids without the support from LIVE’s father or a father figure. His family grew up in the projects and as time passed by he suddenly became one of the most known drug dealers in South Baltimore; LIVE had plans on being the biggest drug dealer out on the streets. He continued to sell drugs even after he got arrested for selling about one half of a kilogram of cocaine. The more he sold, the more charges he received.
LIVE lived the “street life” for many years. He considered it to be one of the fastest ways to collect money or be a hustler. It seemed as though that was his main lifeline. However, there was always another lifeline that he had, and that was music. Music had always been more important to him than being a drug dealer or a hustler. LIVE always had a love for music, particularly the hooks. He began to take it seriously after he exhausted himself being a drug dealer since it wasn’t enough for him—LIVE knew that it was never enough.
The Music
It wasn’t his true passion and never brought him joy. LIVE had always had his own sound; however, he reconnected with an old best friend and local rapper, Test and developed their own record label called CHM. During one of LIVE’s preparations for his mixtape release, Test eventually signed with Future and his label, Freebandz as CHM continued to grow from the ground up.
LIVE began to develop new music under CHM. He produced several mixtapes and enjoyed every minute of it. Sadly, one day after leaving the studio, LIVE was left with a bullet in his back from a 45 pistol after ten bullets went through his Lexus coup. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and quickly recovered. After his recovery, LIVE took a break from producing and went back to drug-dealing.
Thankfully, that was short-lived and he went back to producing a mixtape, which featured Test and some of the hottest Baltimore rappers like Lil’ Scoota, G-Rock, and YGTeck. During his mixtape release, he promoted it by performing in various clubs night after night. One day, he found himself questioning what he was doing with his life because living the “high life” was surely not enough. He felt as though something big was missing. As he searched for that answer he continued to promote his mixtape until he finally met the Lord on October 2014.
The Transition
LIVE met the Lord in the living room on his knees and he began to read the Bible and worshipping the Lord. He became a born-again Christian and continuously sought after the Lord for himself. LIVE developed and established a very strong relationship with the Lord. He experienced and received the Holy Spirit. From that day forward, LIVE continuously renewed his mind, body, heart, and soul with the ways of Christ leading him to stop selling drugs and producing music, as well as, resigning from CHM. LIVE is the definition of a man that lives for God alone. LIVE is a walking testimony of what God has done in his life. If God can turn his life around, then imagine what He can do in your life.
